Algorithmic landscape
analysis system workshop
The main objective of this workshop is to develop an algorithmic system that analyzes an area, a park, taking as a perimeter and base the bus garage of Horta, in Barcelona, on the vegetal topographic surface of Parque Omar, in Panama, using the GIS information available.
This workshop was held as part of the final exercise in the "Planning and Landscape: Landscape design" class in the Master of Parametric Design in Architecture of the Universitat Politécnica de Catalunya.
Location of site park landscape and placing of slabs.
Definition of areas and ground density in landscape.
Set of cavities and drainage simulation.
As part of the site filling system, a mxn plastic drawer algorithm (variable measures) which classifies each piece by height.
As for water management, a simulation of surface runoff is scripted by means of a repeater algorithm. This collects the amount of water at the meeting points.
